I paused in thought of what to say next. She is smiling at me again and I take a gulp from my water bottle. I now had only the time it takes for me to swallow and drawl breath to think of something else to say to her. Keep talking to her to make a good first impression.
“At least I didn’t say you’re hot.” I told her.
“Thanks.” She said again a little less sweetly though and her eyes half rolled. I could tell that made things awkward and so I felt I should explain. More than that though I wanted to explain
"No, i would have gladly said to you that you're hot, but telling a girl she's hot tells her that the man saying it to her has only one thing on his mind. Saying you're beautiful is better, it's more civilized. You may never see me another day for the rest of your life so if my impression is to last it is paramount that I choose my words carefully."
     "Good point." She seemed intrigued.
     Yes!
